Slip

Less friction. A gentler detangle.

01 What slip means

In hair care, slip means the smooth, lubricated feel that helps strands slide past one another and a comb move through with less resistance. Conditioners can reduce surface friction and improve combability. A slippery feel describes handling; it does not establish that damaged hair has been permanently repaired. 1

What influences glide 1, 2

  • Conditioning formula
  • Condition of the cuticle
  • Wet or dry handling
  • Combing technique

02 Detangle with intention

1

Condition before you comb

Use conditioner after washing. For thick, curly hair, detangle in the shower while conditioner is still on the lengths. 2

2

Start at the ends

Use a wide-tooth comb and work upward gradually. Move gently through tangles instead of pulling from the roots. 2

3

Match the timing

For straight hair, let it dry a little before combing. Wet hair is delicate, even when a product makes it feel smoother. 2

03 Behind the smoother feel

Cationic conditioners

Positively charged conditioning agents attach to hair and help smooth its surface. 1

The finished formula matters, not just one ingredient.

Film-forming agents

Ingredients such as dimethicone can lubricate the surface and reduce friction between strands. 1

Different formulas deposit and rinse out differently.

Rinse-out vs. leave-in

Both formats can provide conditioning, but they are designed for different application steps. 1

Rinse or leave in according to the product label.

04 A MANË leave-in option

For post-wash conditioning support; not a measured slip rating or a replacement for gentle technique.
